Prime Minister to advance Klang Valley from Phase 1
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has planned to advance the Klang Valley from Phase 1 after achieving herd immunity on Sunday, August 29.
In a post on Facebook, the Prime Minister expressed pride to everyone that was involved for the remarkable achievement.
He said, “Alhamdulillah, this is due to the collective cooperation and contribution from all to help achieve herd immunity in our country.”
He added that the country needs to continue its efforts and focus on the states that have not achieved 50 per cent herd immunity among the adult population.
The Bera MP said that the latest statistics show the Klang Valley had reached 89.5 per cent of vaccinated adults.
Reaching herd immunity will enable him to discuss in a special committee meeting with the Cabinet to advance the Klang Valley into Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
Although states in Malaysia will progress to their next phases, the Prime Minister urged that citizens comply with the current standard of procedures.
Ismail Sabri was at the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur as the one millionth vaccine dose was injected that the vaccination centre which began at May 5.
