There has for some time, since the advent of globalisation, the discarding of the Old World Order and the beginning of A New World Order which seems to have slipped by most Malaysians who are like ‘katak di bawah tempurung.’
The phrase ‘seperti katak di bawah tempurung’ or in the English language, ‘like a frog under a coconut shell’ depicts living in a world of our own and not keeping in touch with the changes or vicissitudes of life.
These changes that have taken place and are taking place around the world have vastly changed the dynamics of life in the present and it is important not to be ‘jahil’ or ignorant as the future of every Malaysian is at stake.
Therefore, it is important to crawl out from under our coconut shells, though not being a frog, but come to terms and face up to the realities of the present and measure up to the changes in order not for us to be ‘ketinggalan zaman’ or remain in the Dark Ages.
Change has definitely come to this world because change is the only constant in life, and therefore it is important for every Malaysian, young or old, to keep abreast with developments and accordingly work out their plans for the future.
Malaysians must be on the cutting edge in receiving information and knowledge as it keeps changing and evolving rapidly and there is a need not to be left behind and for the stronger people to assist and help the weaker people to also come up in life.
