GoCare, an initiative started by the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM), is a crowdfunding platform that has joined hands with a non-profit group comprising Malaysian artistes in distributing furniture to the underprivileged and helping families with disabilities.
On Jan 8, the GoCare Fusion of Love ‘Flood Relief Home Rebuilding Campaign’ witnessed the participation of artists such as Zac, Adrian Tan, Jodie, Julio, Jonathan Lee, Wei, Dickson Chai and Steven.
They are from Fusion of Love, an NGO started by singers and musicians to help disadvantaged groups and, among others, they will install kitchen cabinets, donate food boxes and clean the homes of people affected by flood waters.
Zhixiang Zac of Fusion of Love stated that the public can donate mattresses, pillows, gas stoves, rice cookers, kettles, refrigerators, electrical appliances and other home items.
He said that they were carrying out post-disaster reconstruction through GoCare and hope to help about 1,000 families in the disaster areas while raising funds through crowdfunding.
GoCare consultant Datuk Natalie Lim said they will be sending furniture and supplies to other states such as Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Melaka as soon as possible.
