In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Pertama Digital stated it was in advanced investment and collaboration negotiations with iFIBER Holdings Sdn Bhd to provide fiber broadband services that are currently being formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through this partnership, Pertama Digital and iFIBER seek to deliver gigabit-speed Internet connectivity at affordable rates.

iFIBER is a Malaysian telecommunications company that creates an open-access network which enables users to instantly switch between multiple Internet services providers (ISPs).

The company builds last-mile Internet infrastructure to provide affordable yet super-fast fiber broadband to premises in Malaysia.

Pertama Digital stated iFIBER has connected homes and businesses to gigabit-speed fiber broadband in Kota Kinabalu and plans to expand to the Klang Valley and Johor Bahru.

Pertama Digital said under The Jalinan Digital Negara or Jendela in 2020 there were 502,309 gigabit ports available in state capitals across Malaysia.
