In a world of fast-changing and highly complex business models and corporate structures, in a world where businesses are driven by the bottom line of profits, it might be timely and necessary for businesspeople to contemplate being ‘enlightened capitalist.’
The definition of ‘enlightened capitalism’ is given as an economic philosophy and business approach where corporations prioritize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors alongside corporate profits.
This simple switch made towards enlightened capitalism might make better sense than to create wealth and hoard it for the uncertainties of taking care of the generations that succeed us in our families.which is really not a very feasible idea.
Capitalism suffers from many vagaries of uncertainties, and in life the changes of fortune with time are hard to be fully determined by us or under our complete control and this is where enlightened capitalism comes offering a breath of fresh air.
Everyone of us must be given to understand that money is only of value when it is put to use. A person who is wealthy and creates wealth and hoards all his money without spending prudently and wisely is the same as a poor person.
All of us must learn to strike a balance by taking the middle path for everyone to enjoy prosperity and progress in their lives. It is not right for only the elite and upper echelons of society to possess wealth but their largesse must benefit everyone.
