When the food eaten by us kills

There is nothing more horrifying in life than to die from eating food, which is a real tragedy, as most people’s interest in life is to enjoy eating good and delicious and tasty meals, which are unfortunately, terribly unhealthy, and people end up dying from eating.

Living in a land where there is an abundance of food from all over the world, Malaysians are spoilt for choice when it comes to food, and, in the process there is so much hype, advertising, marketing and promotion of all kinds of food.

Not only are food and drinks in abundance, it is available round the clock, 24-hours a day, seven days a week and this is why it is easy to witness Malaysians dining ‘al fresco’ under the stars at the ungodly hour of 3 am in the morning.

They are usually not tucking into a few tidbits and snacks with their “teh tarik” but whopping meals like nasi lemak with chicken rendang or briyani rice or nasi kandar and this is why obesity is a common phenomenon among Malaysians.

Gorging into meals high in bad cholesterol and sweet or salty and oily are the risks which Malaysians expose themselves throughout a day and end up having strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, high blood pressure and other health issues.

In order to avoid ill health and dying from an untimely demise or suffering from disabilities because of the consumption of food, all of us need to tailor a balanced diet suited to the health conditions facing us and stick to eating in moderation.
