Work should not be a profane four-letter word. Instead, people should understand that a chief purpose in living is to work, to accomplish and achieve, and to savour success and happiness in this life.

Therefore, work should not be a filthy expletive but a reason for all humankind to work or study and engage in an occupation or business that is fruitful and meaningful in order for us to live a life whose yield or fruits can be enjoyed.

Work, in the right level of productivity, should be considered as therapeutic and wholesome in nature. It must give us a certain satisfaction and fulfillment and this is why a robust and vigorous work culture must be established among Malaysians.

Instead of workers and employees opting for a shortcut to success, each individual or person must learn to work to earn a living, butter their bread, and if there is surplus to requirements, to look into the needs of others.

It is through honest, hard work, through integrity and due diligence exercises that the character of men and women manifest and give them the seal of approval by others who surround them not only at the workplace but in the community.

This is the reason why the Madani government must look into the perceived threat of Artificial Intelligence, technology and automation which are causing jobs to be scarce and creating higher unemployment in this country.
