Scams of all kinds were previously unheard of, and even if they existed in the past, it attracted little attention, was low-keyed, and didn’t factor much in people’s lives unlike nowadays when scams have become the norm rather than a rarity.

It was perhaps the Covid-19 pandemic that acted as a trigger, releasing a barrage of scams and the need for people to seek fast, easy money through ‘Get-rich-quick’ schemes and other kinds of investing that is really too good to be true.

Scams took off in the New Normal, as people began to get displaced at the workplace by technology and Artificial Intelligence, as working remotely was the trend, and the need to work-from-home became the preferred choice for many Malaysians.

In the process of all these developments taking place, more and more Malaysians opted to become scammers and hackers, while traditional jobs were shunned as being too hard an option to consider.

But scamming is morally and legally wrong as a scammer earns money by not applying themselves honestly, and without integrity and due diligence and forsaking hard work only to replace it by a range of scams.

Scamming is to go the wrong way in life. There can be doubts about this, and although scammers can supposedly escape the long arm of the law, the reality on the ground is that scammers are fooling and deceiving themselves by not earning an honest living.
