Availability of jobs but Malaysians refuse to work

The quest and trend nowadays appears to be the search or hunt and finding of fast, easy money which is why many Malaysians are shying away from work, especially hard work which they feel is unnecessary in the present New Normal.

This is not just a flash in the pan phenomenon, but a factor that is causing employers to have sleepless nights because though they make work opportunities available, Malaysians are reluctant to accept these jobs even though they pay fairly well.

This has created a kind of social malaise now in the country, as unemployment begins to ramp up, especially among the youth and those who are school leavers or fresh graduates contemplating their future merely in terms of ringgit and sen.

There needs to be a reform or transformation directed towards the mindset of young Malaysians in their attitude and approach towards work and they generally need a cogent understanding of why work is beneficial to them.

Instead, the focus of many young people is in trying to earn a fast buck through scams, get rich quick schemes, gambling and other nefarious activities that they do not consider that these ways and means of earning an income is unhealthy.

There has to be a paradigm shift in the thinking of Malaysians to be aware that the accumulation and attainment of wealth through false and fake ways never really gets a person anywhere and this is why they should learn that hard, honest work never hurts.
