There is, in modern geo-politics, a persuasive and convincing point of view by certain erudite individuals and personalities that there must be backing and support, especially by Asean, to endorse Indonesia as a world superpower.

Just like the current world leaders, which is the United States, China and India, countries with a large land area and population, Indonesia is spread widely geographically and also has teeming millions of people waiting to see the sun rise on their nation.

Why should Asean perform this role? Indonesia can act as a buffer against the expansionist designs of China and India in order to protect and assist nations in the Malay Archipelago which has been long overdue.

Indonesia can also play the role of a Big Brother like the United States now by mobilising its financial, economic and human resources to explore their underestimated potential to rise to being a global powerhouse.

They have the makings to become a force to be reckoned with as they tick all the boxes spelling out the vital components needed to qualify them to play a paramount role in the leadership of the world.

Those who mock this idea actually do so at their own peril. But what is of utmost importance now is to have strong and capable Indonesian leaders coming to the forefront of the nation to serve and realise the endless possibilities ahead for the nation.
