Smartphone manufacturer realme has launched the realme 16 5G in Malaysia, introducing what it describes as one of the lightest smartphones in its category equipped with a 7,000mAh battery.
The device serves as the flagship model of the newly unveiled realme 16 Series and features the company’s latest Air Design concept, which focuses on combining a slim profile with high-capacity battery performance.
According to realme, the smartphone measures 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 183 grammes despite housing a large-capacity Titan Battery. The design aims to provide greater comfort for users who spend extended periods gaming, streaming content and creating social media content on mobile devices.
Among the key design elements is a horizontal rear camera module, which the company said enhances balance and handling while improving ergonomics during prolonged use. The device also incorporates a rear Selfie Mirror feature, allowing users to frame self-portraits using the main camera system.
Available in Air White and Air Black colour options, the smartphone adopts an Aurora Wings-inspired finish on the Air White variant through a multi-layer texture process designed to create changing visual effects under different lighting conditions.
realme said the device is built using an AirCraft internal structural design alongside high energy-density battery technology, enabling a balance between battery endurance and a lightweight form factor. The handset also features a sand-textured rear panel with an anti-fingerprint coating.
The realme 16 5G is priced at RM1,599 in Malaysia. As part of its first-sale promotion beginning June 13, consumers can purchase the device at a special price of RM1,499 and receive complimentary gifts valued at up to RM537, including an Aisolove handheld fan, a one-year extended warranty and a 180-day screen crack warranty.
The smartphone will be available through realme Brand Stores, authorised dealers and the brand’s official online stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop nationwide.
realme said the latest addition to its product portfolio reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to offer premium features, extended battery life and contemporary design at accessible price points for consumers.
