Is Malaysia fast becoming a false and fake society? In order to answer this question correctly and accurately, there is a need to look at how Malaysians are faring as a people and if they are missing out on a real and meaningful life.

Since the New Normal was activated, Malaysia, like all other countries around the globe, have not been spared by the assault on their senses through so much hype and pretension being exhibited at study, work and play and the way life is lived.

This is a scenario that has become exacerbated by the fact that wealth and personal glory is what life is all about, as by achieving these two twin factors, a Malaysian recognises that he or she is able to command respect and admiration.

This is what appears to count and matter nowadays, the glorification of self, and due to this, there has emerged a slew of Malaysians who are professing falsehood and pretension, or just simply engaging in fake behaviour.

However, the end result is that they emerge ‘kecundang’ (beaten, defeated, lost) though they may have put on a facade or front for people to believe in their false image which eventually enters up tattered and battered, embarrassing and humiliating them.

This is why every Malaysian, in order to avoid being in this situation, has to get real and strive to live as near as possible to a life of truth and honesty by not only being true and honest with themselves but also with all others they encounter in life.
