In recent controversies involving the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and certain Malay Rulers, there is a growing feeling and rising sentiment by right thinking Malaysians that there are, among the rakyat, those who hate and insult the royal houses.
This is a situation which must be nipped in the bud, as if this scenario enlarges in nature, more Malaysians would be hurling hate speeches and have an axe to grind with the King and the Malay Rulers.
In taking on the role of choosing and appointing the new MACC Chief Commissioner, His Majesty the king drew flak from a number of critics for supposedly interfering and intervening in the selection process thus usurping the role of the executive.
In the state of Negeri Sembilan, an audacious plot by leaders of stature to replace the ruler is considered by Malaysians as unprecedented and history in the making as such a move has never occurred before in this country.
In the case of the Sultan of Selangor, there are those who accuse him of throwing his weight around by making decisions considered as unfair or unjust which has also caused him to be viewed with suspicion and caution by some Malaysians.
This is ample evidence that there is growing dislike by a fraction of Malaysians who may be deemed as ‘kurang ajar’ (uncouth) and need to learn to understand why they should just “ikut perintah duli saja” or just obey the orders of the Malay Rulers.
