Malaysia’s prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, is expected to call for general elections towards the end of the year, but the rakyat are dissatisfied and upset that most of the reforms pledged in the last general election have yet to be fulfilled and realised.
With these election pledges and promises still to be made, and the changes expected are not forthcoming, there are a growing and significant number of Malaysians who are beginning to believe Anwar is just a puppet on a string.
Is Anwar really in full control and in power in this country? The evidence shows he holds sway in this country by a fragmentation of power and is just hanging by the end of the rope hoping to gain another mandate from the rakyat to govern from Putrajaya.
If Anwar is not in full control of the levers of power in this country, it is because it is actually the deep state in government who dictate terms, hence the belief that Anwar is just a puppet on a string.
For effective changes and reforms for the betterment of Malaysia, Anwar must, difficult as it might seem, as it will make him unpopular and earn him more enemies, he is choiceless but has to dismantle the deep state sooner or later.
Deep state operatives in government are guilty of resisting Anwar’s changes and reforms, and they are also dictating terms and conditions to the prime minister, which is why the path to being a failed state is more likely than being a First World nation.
