Many Malaysians are hot and bothered under the collar, not just because of the heatwave, but the rising cost of goods and services, the widespread spate of corruption among the elite and a perceived law and order situation expectedly on the horizon.
But expecting ‘rusuhan’ (riots), ‘mogok’ (strikes) and ‘tunjuk perasaan’ ( protests) are not on the drawing card as yet as the nation weathers the energy crisis and other present day issues well because of the Madani government acting swiftly to stem its effects.
Nor is there expected to be any kind of civil unrest, though there are riff raff, rabble rousers and agent provocateurs at work in the country wanting to stir trouble and create a law and order situation for them to politically benefit unjustly.
These backdoor maneuverings have to come under the watchful supervision and monitoring of the authorities as the unhappy and miserable Malaysians aim to jump from the frying pan into the fire to stir mayhem, bedlam and anarchy.
The catch-phrase for Anwar and his government is to be sober and vigilant and on guard against any possibility of the nation experiencing political instability or a disruption in everyday life though there are now ample reasons for a law and order situation to evolve.
Malaysians must come together and unite under one banner, the banner of truth, trust and integrity in order for the smooth flow of orderly life to progress and be maintained until the next general election takes place eventually.
