Growing uncertainty has emerged over claims that actress Norish Karman is in critical condition, as key details surrounding her alleged hospitalisation remain unclear and unverified.
Attempts to reach her eldest child, Manda, have so far been unsuccessful despite multiple efforts through phone calls, WhatsApp messages and direct messages on Instagram, including via both her personal account and her mother’s social media platforms.
Media personnel who tried contacting Norish’s phone number, which was previously believed to be used by Manda, managed to get through. However, while the calls were answered, there was no response from the other end, further deepening the mystery.
Speculation intensified online after an individual claiming to be Manda used Norish’s Instagram and Threads accounts to share updates about the actress’s purported critical condition. Concerns escalated when the same individual initiated a fundraising campaign on the GoGetFunding platform, appealing for financial assistance without disclosing crucial information such as the hospital location.
The credibility of the appeal has also been questioned due to the writing style used in the fundraising posts, which some observers described as disorganised and similar to messages often linked to online scams.
“There is clearly something wrong. If you start a crowdfunding campaign, netizens have the right to ask questions. Scammers are everywhere nowadays,” said Omar Omark.
“Why do the photos look like she is admitted to a private hospital? Please do not collect donations if you can afford private treatment,” said Mdsfrismail.
Efforts to obtain clarification directly from Manda through her personal Instagram account have yielded no response. Comments from followers seeking further explanation on her latest posts have also gone unanswered.
Meanwhile, another of Norish’s children, Haqiem Aoki, has yet to respond to attempts to reach him. His most recent known location was reported to be in Beijing, China, adding to the difficulty in confirming the situation.
As of now, the crowdfunding effort has reportedly collected more than RM900, despite lingering doubts over its authenticity.
