Is it wise to put your trust in money and wealth?

It is quite normal, natural and logical, once a person has worked hard to acquire wealth, to rest on their laurels and live off their money and the wealth they have created, which is the usual course of action many people take in life.

But is it prudent and wise to put our entire faith and trust in our wealth? Perhaps a better alternative is to also put our faith and trust in our talents, skills and abilities to be doubly sure of enjoying a lifetime of prosperity.

The idea is to promote self-belief. This means believing in ourselves rather than only in the assets and wealth accumulated or attained through the passage of life and to put a strong emphasis on being self-reliant or reliant on ourselves.

Money and wealth has this uncanny ability to sprout wings and fly away which is what people are witnessing of those who were fabulously rich being declared bankrupt or ending up poor as the circumstances of their life changed.

This is no laughing matter, neither should it be the butt of jokes, instead people must learn to respect money and be cautious and thrifty in its use, as being spendthrift or couldn’t care less about our money can spell our downfall.

In the final analysis, people who have amassed wealth should learn to strike a balance and not put all their eggs in one basket but spread out their investments and also capitalise and keep going in exploring their skills and abilities.
