I think therefore I am

“I think therefore I am,” is a deep-rooted conviction or quote steeped in philosophy, theology and logic, which was unveiled by Rene Descartes and which has since been used by many intellectuals and thinkers as being the way forward.

Thinking is the proof that a person exists in this world. Therefore, because a person thinks, the person is a living, existing being, who fulfills all the tenets and obligations of a human being in this world.

This is why many people also believe that the world is their oyster. It is the way and means by which a person or persons are challenged to live life and to create meaning and purpose or the “thrust to life.”

It is not enough to be just bystanders in this life. It is important to engage with life and to bring it into full play in order for us not only to benefit from life but to derive happiness and joy, and peace and prosperity from it.

There can be no further truth than this, that each and every human being must decide from the onset of life or in early adulthood, what is their expectation of life, and what in the end they hope to achieve by living on this earth.

Once this is figured out, it is important to stay the course and factor what a person wants to derive from life no matter how short or long the person’s lifespan is as there is that fervent hope that in the course of their life they may savour true bliss.
