In this ‘nuclear age,’ anything is possible, even the impossible appears to be possible and this is why from being the backbone and strength of society, the family unit has started to disintegrate and become increasingly invisible.

In the past, it was opined by philosophers and thinkers that if every family in a society is cared for and well, then it follows that the nation would be prosperous and happy and there will be no such thing as social ills.

But, on the contrary, families now are hanging on the end of the rope. Most families exist only in name as there is little or no interaction between family members worthy of being considered as engaging in a relationship.

This is troubling and disturbing news for psychologists and sociologists. These groups of experts contend that in the distant future it is highly likely that members of a household would be strangers to each other.

In view of this, and to protect the families coming onstream, there need to be efforts made by the Madani government to help Malaysians to “focus on the family” and to prioritize the role of parents and each member of a family.

The family unit must be safeguarded and protected for the future well being of this world, and it is important that each nation put an emphasis on the important role a family plays in society for the betterment of all.
