What’s in a thought?

You are what you think. This adage must be reinforced by the belief that as a person thinks of himself or herself they become such a person in thought, word and deed, which is why our thought-life must always be healthy and well.

Before a person performs an act, the act has to begin with a thought, and this is why the quality and health of our thought-life is important. Although an act speaks louder than a thought or words, it is formed or originates from a mere thought.

It is therefore vital and important to think right in order to feel right. While thoughts, feelings and emotions are inter-linked and intertwined, the root fact is in the thought-life, as it is the originator of all things a person does and says.

This means there can be no excuse for us to say a deed done by us was done without thinking or pre-mediated as nothing can happen unless it has been formed in a person’s mind and this is why it is necessary to guard our thoughts.

Not only should each and everyone of us guard our thoughts, there is also a necessity to ensure our thoughts are right and proper and wholesome which would be reflected in our behaviour and demeanour.

Generally, it has been found that people who are successful and happy, people who are truly satisfied and content in life are those who have good and positive thoughts as it is true that “it’s all in the mind.”
