In this Holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world observe fasting and say all kinds of prayers and engage in almsgiving and these are good practices to perform to build faith and confidence in Allah.

But while these are good and excellent attributes, they are essentially external factors and facets of a Muslim’s faith, but it is necessary to look within, which is to practice the ability to purify and cleanse ourselves from all wrongdoing.

For this to happen, for Muslims to grow in knowledge and understanding of their faith they have to come under the teaching of Islamic clerics who possess the wisdom to impart to them how to become a better and stronger Muslim.

For far too long there has been the spread of deviant teaching or ‘ajaran sesat’ because these kinds of teachings are pleasant and sweet to us but it is actually deceptive and misleading and it does not guide us on the right path of knowing Allah.

This is why Muslims of this era have to learn to check and verify teachings and preachings by counter checking with those who are authorities in the religion of Islam and ensure that their faith is safe and secure.

Good, sound Islamic teachings, principles, convictions and beliefs can transform the lives of the faithful and cause them to grow more to be more like Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in piety and righteousness.
