Based on ground realities during this Holy fasting month of Ramadan, the authorities have permitted and allowed Ramadan bazaars to function and operate until the auspicious celebration of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri actually begins.
This is why it is now possible to witness these Ramadan bazaars with gaily-coloured tents offering and serving a very wide range of halal food and beverages for all Malaysians to purchase and take home and enjoy.
But this is only for this period of Ramadan only, and most Malaysians sharing on social media platforms state that all these gastronomic delights are delicious and tasty and most of all ‘harga berpatutan’ or it is affordable.
This is why sales are brisk and can even carry on well past the breaking of fast as Malaysians of all walks of life throng these bazaars to get a good deal and to stretch their ringgit with value-for-money meals.
Just connect on social media pages where there are postings of the nearest bazaar to your home or office. But some people like to travel far just to patronise a particular stall serving special dishes not commonly available.
Whatever your taste or fancy, whatever the budget you have, these Ramadan bazaars are a ‘must-try’ attraction as it only occurs during the fasting month and this is why many Malaysians mark it down on their calendar.
