Mia Sara breaks silence amid online abuse, death wishes

by | Feb 20, 2026 | THE GRAPEVINE

Actress, Mia Sara Nasuha has spoken out against what she describes as relentless online abuse, saying the criticism directed at her has intensified despite her efforts to remain silent over an ongoing dispute with fellow actress, Puteri Balqis.

The 22-year-old said that refraining from responding to accusations had not shielded her from public condemnation. Instead, she claimed, the silence only fuelled further speculation and harsh remarks on social media.

“If I choose to stay quiet, will people stop talking about me? No,” she wrote on Threads, adding that she felt compelled to respond after being continuously provoked online.

Mia said she had no intention of initiating conflict with anyone, but was deeply disappointed by the extent of hostility, including comments wishing for her death.

“Even during the fasting month, the insults continue. Some even tell me to die. Is that not sinful?” she questioned, referring to the heightened sensitivity typically observed during Ramadan.

In a separate post, she shared a screenshot of a message allegedly sent by an individual urging her to apologise to Puteri Balqis and containing offensive language, including a statement expressing hope that her life would be cut short.

Mia maintained that she had met Puteri Balqis only once in her lifetime, when they were seven years old, and denied ever bullying her.

She also claimed that she had been blocked by Puteri Balqis on all social media platforms, prompting her to issue a public apology previously as a gesture of goodwill.

The dispute resurfaced in January when Puteri Balqis publicly called on Mia to resolve the matter, presenting what she described as two options, following allegations that Mia had once humiliated her mother.

Puteri Balqis further alleged that Mia’s recent emotional display before the media was merely an attempt to gain public sympathy.

The former child actress also revisited past claims of being bullied during the early stages of her career, asserting that the individual responsible projected a vastly different persona online compared to her alleged real-life behaviour.

The exchange has since sparked heated debate among netizens, with both actresses drawing mixed reactions from the public.

As the controversy unfolds, observers note that the incident underscores the growing impact of social media scrutiny on public figures, particularly when personal disputes play out in the digital sphere.
