Malaysian King, His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, acting in his capacity as Head of State has called upon all parliamentarians to not involve themselves in corrupt practices and fight corruption while serving their constituents.

The King’s call is timely and most appropriate, and if His Majesty is upset and flabbergasted it is because of the scandals of corruption being unraveled and revealed by MACC now that is causing anxiety and concern among Malaysians.

In recent months, there have been a significant number of high profile corruption cases involving senior government officials, politicians and business personalities which has caused His Majesty to raise the alarm on corruption.

Corruption in Malaysia has reached an alarming level. It has become widespread and rampant and what right-thinking Malaysians suspect is that these exposes of the corrupt are just the tip of a gargantuan iceberg in this country.

A major reason for the soaring cost of living and the hike and spiral in the cost of goods and services is because of unabated corruption that has permeated every sphere and segment of society.

The King, using His Majesty’s wisdom, has rightfully called upon the Madani Administration to muster greater political will and to go about the task of enforcement to ensure the weeding out of all the corrupt in the country.
