The education of schoolchildren in this country is probably the most politicised in the world and it has inflicted so much worry, suffering and anguish among students and their parents for decades that there is a dire need to halt all these politicking immediately.

Concerned and worried Malaysians, especially parents and their school-going children are asking and wondering when all this politicking will stop so that the education of these students can proceed smoothly and without the play of politics.

In the present era, the power play by politicians and officials of the education ministry have all raised the ire of the other stakeholders in the education of schoolchildren and the situation is now threatening to boil over.

These self-serving political ruses and ploys by politicians and education ministry officials only serve to promote their own parochial interests while neglecting the broader perspective of giving schoolchildren a real education to face the future.

Malaysians must voice their criticism and dissent to all these muddling politics by the relevant authorities and seek them out to highlight that it is high time to call a spade a spade for the sake of the future of schoolchildren.

Nothing short of fairplay, justice and meritocracy and the aim and objective of the betterment of education in this country is what Malaysians should expect from the government of the day in order to secure a brighter and better future for schoolchildren.
