Malaysia’s screen icon and award-winning singer Erra Fazira today announced that she will solemnise her marriage with entrepreneur Ezwan Zain, owner of the Kueh restaurant chain, on 12 December 2025, marking a new chapter after a year of getting to know each other.
Erra, whose full name is Fazira Wan Chek, 51, made the announcement in an emotional address, appealing for prayers as she prepares for the significant milestone.
“Insya-Allah, if all goes well on 12 December, which falls on a Friday, I kindly ask members of the media and everyone to continue praying that my marriage will unfold smoothly and with blessings,” she said.
The actress shared the news during the launch and premiere screening of the Cinta Abadi 2025 music video in Kuala Lumpur today.
Erra also unveiled a refreshed rendition of her 1993 debut single, Cinta Abadi, which has been rearranged with a contemporary touch to commemorate her upcoming nuptials. She said the song remains deeply meaningful as it was the breakthrough that paved her way into the music industry.
“The song is now 32 years old. I still remember every moment from the recording session in Singapore when I was just 19. It was the song that introduced me as a singer and opened doors to countless stage invitations,” she said.
Erra added that she immediately agreed to re-record the track when MindOrder Sdn Bhd proposed the idea, noting that many fans had long missed her vocal presence. She expressed hope that the refreshed version would rekindle fond memories among listeners.
Earlier this year, Erra had dismissed speculation surrounding her wedding, stating no formal discussions had taken place at that time. Public attention on her relationship grew after she posted a romantic message to Ezwan in January.
Erra was previously married to businessman Engku Emran in 2007 before the couple divorced in 2014. They share a daughter, Engku Aleesya, now 16. Her earlier marriage to singer Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim in 2003 ended in 2006.
