Heavy convolution taking place in Malaysia

When Malaysian political party Muda wanted an investigation opened on the MACC Chief Commissioner, it was the last straw, the straw that broke the camel’s back and it also signified how politics in the country has become heavily convoluted.

In many cases of wrongdoings, atrocities and abuse of power, many of which are linked also to corrupt practices, it is mind-boggling to ordinary Malaysians to witness the ‘pusing cerita’ or how statements of evidence are twisted and turned and contorted.

The end product of this twisting and turning of the facts of a scandal is that people lose the plot and this is the trend and modus operandi now of guilty parties in escaping from being convicted though many scandals have surfaced.

If Malaysian law enforcement agencies are viewed with disdain by ordinary people, it is understandable, and if people have also lost faith in the quest for justice, it is simply because of the refusal of the authorities to call a spade a spade.

Instead, those involved or implicated in a scandal speak with forked tongues, they say something and do something else to contradict themselves and though they are engaged in giving conflicting and convoluting statements nothing is done by the authorities.

This is really a crying shame as, while common criminals are meted severe punishment, white collar criminals enjoy a certain reprieve or are let off the hook by virtually just being given a rap on the knuckles.
