When the Internet Revolution took place, not only did technology stocks boom, but it led to a multiplicity of changes in the way lives were lived and these sweeping changes have taken us on a quantum leap.
The transformation and reforms people witnessed can only be mind boggling and now the advent of Artificial Intelligence or AI is set to take humankind to the next level and bring about the ease and convenience in our way of living.
But there are the naysayers, people who strongly oppose the use of AI as they feel it will render humans worthless and useless and displace them at the workplace and this is a very real fear for many people around the world.
Perhaps it might now be useful to read the situation accurately. Humankind should be in control of all AI activities and so they should determine to what extent they want to apply and use AI in their lives and not have AI control us humans.
In creating AI, it is not that humankind has created a monster that will overwhelm us. It is important to impose limits on the use of AI so that it does not make the human workforce redundant. Instead, ways must be found to strike a balance.
Human capital must always be safeguarded and valued no matter how extensive and widespread is the use of AI and ways and means must be found for the two forums of work to co-exist and bring about a better world.
