As more Malaysians seek meaning beyond four walls and a roof, PropertyGuru Malaysia joins Kamar Irama, a cultural content series that blends music, place, and personal stories, to explore what makes a house truly feel like home.
The debut episode, which launches at 5pm on 7 August 2025 via Kamar Irama’s YouTube channel, stars popular alt-pop band IamNeeta in an intimate acoustic performance set against the backdrop of Shah Alam Extreme Park, adjacent to the very spot where the band played their first-ever gig in 2012, at the now-defunct Senyap Cafe.
The stripped-down set includes fan favourites Jatuh Cinta and Sakit, along with a preview of a new single, Nangis, performed on the park’s iconic concrete slopes, in a moment that connects memory, music, and place. The live performance is accompanied by behind-the-scenes interviews and neighbourhood walk clips on TikTok and Instagram.
While traditional definitions of home have long been tied to ownership or investment, Kamar Irama broadens the conversation. The social-first series highlights the stories, streets, and songs that give life to a neighbourhood, told through local artists and rooted in places rich with personal meaning. It is a reminder that home is not just about physical space, but about belonging, culture, and shared experience.
This perspective aligns with insights from PropertyGuru’s H2 2024 Consumer Sentiment Study, which found that Malaysians increasingly prioritise public transport access, green spaces, and walkable or bikeable neighbourhoods when choosing where to live. This shows that Malaysians are considering what makes a home truly liveable such as prioritising long-term safety, sustainability, and quality of life.
As Malaysia approaches its National Day, the concept of home continues to evolve, from property as an investment to neighourhoods as an extension of home and identity. With Kamar Irama, PropertyGuru Malaysia celebrates the people, places, and cultures that give Malaysian neighbourhoods their heartbeat.
