Malaysians focused on seeking news and information are starting to fret and worry as they read of the growing number of wars, and the spectre unveiling of rumours of wars around the world, that they can’t help feeling concerned about the future.
On the other side of the divide is the unfolding saga of the quest for world peace, although there is much bedlam, mayhem and anarchy prevailing, it has not deterred peace lovers from wanting to banish violence and wars.
This quixotical blend of war and peace that is being witnessed around the world is a quirky situation as man battles against man and there is strife and conflict between the warmongers and the peace lovers.
Who will win in the end? But it is not really the search for winners as world history has proven that in a war there are no real winners, but is there a possibility of achieving world peace and harmony in this era of globalization?
If any kind of peace is to be attained, there has to be the smoking of the peace pipe by warring factions who should set aside the reasons for going to battle to ceasefire and negotiate a peaceful settlement to all their demands.
Instead of being hell-bent on destroying lives and this world through the possibility of nuclear wars, it will be more prudent and wise to march for peace than war and strive for an environment that is conducive for everyone’s peace, progress and prosperity.
