Malaysians should value the art of communication

The exercise of social graces, the need to set exemplary behaviour, and the ability to express and communicate ourselves well, is very important in this globalised era where being politically correct is considered vital and necessary.

It is not enough to just be good communicators and to brush up on our communication skills, there is a need to go much deeper into the art of communication, that there will be the desired results achieved in all that is said and done by us.

In order for us to get what is desired, it is important to be pleasant in the way a person behaves and communicates, as to profit there is a need to be nice and courteous. But there is no need to ‘bodek’ (flatter) or descend to being a sycophant.

In the quest to be effective in our communication, to get what is wanted and needed by us, there is no need to stoop to the level of being a sycophant, and it is also important for us to understand that there is a necessity to grow in self-respect and dignity.

By being effective communicators, there is a need to take pride in all that is said and done by us, as the use of effective communication goes a long way by bringing us success and being able to share in prosperity and progress with others.

Never for a moment must our guard be lowered, instead there is a need to stay alert and vigilant against any form or kind of miscommunication by us, that there may be daily growth from strength to strength in the ways a person lives and communicates.
