Self styled Islamic preacher and teacher, Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu, a protege of controversial Muslim preacher, Zakir Naik, has raised the ire of Malaysians over his insults and insinuations towards non-Islamic religions.

In hurting the sensitivities of non-Muslims in the country, Muhammad Zamri, a Hindu whom Zakir Naik converted to Islam, poses more and more questions from right thinking Malaysians who feel he is a glaring example of Islamic extremism.

It is most unfortunate that during this Holy month of Ramadan, Muhammad Zamri has stirred dissent and dissension in this country by teachings that go against the moderate principles of Islam which most Malaysian Muslims embrace.

It is time for Islamic religious authorities in the country, like Jakim, to haul up preachers and teachers that do not promote peace and harmony among the people by propagating divisive teachings.

The preachings and teachings of both Zakir Naik and Muhammad Zamri do nothing but promote controversy, and not only that, they are not in line with the teachings of the Holy Al Quran but deviant in nature.

The teachings the duo spew is enough to create instability and unrest in Malaysia which is a multi-racial and multi-religious nation where mutual respect and tolerance for each other’s religion is exercised although Islam is the official religion.
