IOI City Mall Enhances Ramadan Experience with Terawih Prayers and Zakat Counter

by | Mar 5, 2025 | Lifestyle, Local

As Ramadan approaches, IOI City Mall in Putrajaya is taking thoughtful steps to accommodate the spiritual needs of its visitors. Throughout the holy month, the mall will offer nightly Terawih prayers as well as a dedicated Zakat counter at its Musalla, ensuring that both worship and charitable giving remain convenient for Muslim patrons.

From 1st to 30th March 2025, visitors to IOI City Mall will have the opportunity to perform Solat Terawih each evening at the Musalla. This initiative allows shoppers and workers in the mall to observe one of the most significant prayers of Ramadan without the need to leave the premises. Terawih prayers hold special significance for Muslims, as they provide an opportunity for spiritual reflection and connection during the sacred month. By offering a designated prayer space, IOI City Mall is fostering an inclusive and accommodating environment for those wishing to balance their religious commitments with their daily activities.

In addition to the nightly prayers, the mall is also setting up a Zakat counter, which will be available from 3rd March 2025 onwards. Operating daily between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, this counter enables visitors to conveniently fulfil their charitable obligations. Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam, is an essential act of giving aimed at helping those in need. By providing an accessible way to contribute, IOI City Mall encourages its patrons to embrace the spirit of generosity that defines Ramadan.

These thoughtful initiatives reflect IOI City Mall’s commitment to creating a community-centred shopping experience. Malls are often seen as commercial hubs, but IOI City Mall is proving that they can also serve as spaces for spiritual connection and social responsibility. By integrating religious and charitable activities into its environment, the mall ensures that visitors do not have to choose between worship and their daily routines.

Beyond convenience, these offerings also highlight the broader role that businesses and public spaces can play in supporting cultural and religious observances. As more malls and commercial centres adopt similar approaches, it paves the way for a more inclusive society where faith and daily life can seamlessly coexist.

For Muslims in Putrajaya and beyond, IOI City Mall is set to become more than just a shopping destination—it is a place where spirituality and community come together during the most sacred month of the year.
