Don’t take anyone or anything in life for granted

BY: IDAYU RAHIM
Change is described as “the only constant in life.” This is true and though a person may live a very long life, until a ripe old age, life is generally considered by most people to be short and therefore no one or nothing in life must be taken for granted.
Cherish the time all of us have on earth and, especially, learn to savour and appreciate the people that are liked and loved by us and also the things in life that motivate us to keep going which helps us a lot in daily living.
It is vanity and sheer wishful thinking to believe that everyone and everything in life will go accordingly in life and things will fall into place to give us a smooth sailing life all the way throughout life.
The bigger and more important lesson learnt in life, other than not taking anyone or anything in life for granted, is that none of us should take life itself for granted as anything can happen in life to us in the spur of a moment.
Therefore, bearing in life these facts and factors, let’s be prudent and wise and not waste time or fritter away life but “make hay while the sun shines,” and as the end of life is reached there is that satisfaction and joy that our lives have been well lived.
If there is no awareness on the part of anyone to value and cherish life, people and things, let’s do so from now on to daily keep adding value to our lives and the lives of others that life may be lived well and to the fullest by everyone.
