Whenever a year comes to a close, there is much excitement, apprehension and reflection over all that took place in the year and anticipation of what the unfolding year will bring that some people will even consult soothsayers and fortune tellers.

Those who are clairvoyant will be busy with people coming to them for advice and instructions on what they should and shouldn’t do, but a more common activity for many people is to draw up New Year resolutions.

For a start, let’s set aside our personal resolutions as this is entirely up to individuals to decide, and focus, instead, on what the government of the day should resolve to do in the coming year 2025 for the rakyat.

First on the resolution list, and foremost, is that Malaysians would like to witness better and good governance, void of corruption and flip flops and the usual intriguing action by politicians not serving to the best of their ability.

This translates into the resolution that there must be the development of political maturity, not only in government, but also for voters to develop and display that they can combine together to lead the nation forward.

Other resolutions for the government are obvious as the rakyat have voiced their displeasure and there are numerous complaints and reports levelled against the government of the day for which there should be action taken for the betterment of all.
