Malaysians should learn to party with Anwar
BY: CHRISTOPHER FERNANDEZ
For decades since independence from the British in 1957, successive Malaysian governments have failed to live up to expectations and now there is a refreshingly new wave with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in power.
This is why, if Malaysians are wise, they would learn to party along with Anwar who, though not perfect, is seemingly the best of the worst and therefore it is best to leave him to govern the country.
Of course there are hiccups from time to time but Anwar Ibrahim remains as Malaysia’s saving hope to pull the nation from the brink of collapse and give it a new lease of life by supporting his politics to sustain recovery.
There is no point in being disgruntled or dissatisfied, it is also foolhardy to backbite and badmouth the government as they have proven in the relatively short time that they have been endorsed with power that they are going in the right direction.
It is important therefore to let the party continue and the fence sitting or opposition should be eventually won over to rally and support and strengthen the government of the day to bring about reforms for the better.
While Malaysians expect greater improvements in the country, they should bear with the snail pace as it takes time to put in place policies that will work but already there is formidable evidence that the Anwar administration is on the right track.
