By the way it looks, every Auditor General’s Report shows much wastage and much financial unaccountability which appears to have become the norm or expected but these transgressions should not be acceptable.
Malaysians must stand up and speak up and demand full accountability for every sen of government spending and they should not brook any nonsense or be expected to listen to lame excuses and half baked truths.
The Auditor General’s Report 3/2024 showed quite a number of shortcomings by the government which has built up a trust deficit against the Anwar administration that needs to be kept in place by applying the right checks and balances.
Government investment in projects and spending need to go through various layers of a fine tooth comb to ensure accountability and the rakyat posted of developments so they are in the know of all that is happening with the finances of the country.
It should not be accepted by any Malaysian citizen the misappropriation of funds or the disappearance of money without a trace and the MACC must open investigations immediately and follow the paper trail.
Recovering monies lost through corruption and financial scandals like the 1MDB debacle should be of paramount interest by the government and to ensure these things don’t happen again by tightening control on how the government spends money.
