The hearts of Malaysians were warmed and elated by the women’s doubles pair representing Malaysia in the Paris Olympics 2024 of Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan, who from being unsung heroines became sensational superstars overnight.

The grit and tenacity displayed by the duo made the nation so proud of them as they battled in every game, fighting point for point to bring Malaysia glory and honour and they will certainly go down in history for their feat.

It was a long arduous road that took them as far as the semi final where they were stopped in their tracks and although the battle later for a bronze medal was unsuccessful what a show these two darlings put on for us.

Malaysians had never seen anything like the likes of these two girls who did not fear any opponent and their bravery plus a touch of derring do serves as a shining example to all athletes and sports personalities in the country.

While in the end Pearly and Thinaah did not prevail, nevertheless their supporters and fan base grew and from now on many more Malaysians would be following these two for their growing prowess in the game of badminton.

There was no shame in the defeat they suffered in the end and both these girls can hold their heads up high and dare to dream, believe and hope for greater victories and glory with the nation backing them all the way.
