Play by the rules of the game

Receiving a real and sound education in this country has become a challenge especially for schoolchildren as the education sector has become rife and riddled with much politicking which has caused many Malaysians a great concern and worry.

Whether a child will grow up well educated is debatable, and whether a child will receive a real and sound education has caused parents and educationists so many nightmares as they strive to offset evildoers who want to manipulate the education system.

While before Merdeka there was the legacy of the British education system and missions schools which both served us well, what Malaysians have to put up with is a mere semblance of education and teachers that do not have the drive and ambition to excel.

With mostly half past six teachers in the government schooling system, who themselves need to receive a real and sound education, students leaving school are not able to match up with the spectre of globalization.

This is why the Malaysian government must learn to call a spade a spade and learn to play by the rules of the game when it comes to dispensing education to schoolchildren and even those in public colleges and universities.

Otherwise what will be the unfolding scenario is that the current education system is set to produce misfits and incompetent human capital in future similar to producing round pegs trying to fit into square holes.
