Mah Sing sets up data centre
In a tie up between Mah Sing’s wholly owned subsidiary, Southville City Sdn Bhd and Bridge Data Centres Malaysia V Sdn Bhd, a company owned by Bain Capital, the collaboration will witness the launching of Mah Sing DC Hub@Southville City.
This venture will jointly develop data centre facilities and infrastructure on a 17.55 acre freehold land within the Southville City township in Bangi, Selangor with another 150 acres of landbank for further expansion.
The collaboration by Mah Sing with BDC is for the setting up of a leading data centre hub with a planned capacity of up to 500MW which will be a holistic digital infrastructure ecosystem that is meticulously designed.
The state of the art facility will be able to meet the demands of artificial intelligence (AI), hyperscale, retail and enterprise service providers including cutting edge applications like AI computation and large scale data storage.
Mah Sing disclosed that the joint venture represents a strategic shift for the group enabling it to diversify its revenue stream beyond traditional property development such as landed and high rise residences, townships, offices, retail spaces and industrial sites.
Mah Sing believes that by entering the data centre market, it can look forward to recurring income which is crucial for building a more resilient financial foundation and, more importantly, to withstand any fluctuations in the market.
