Dutch Lady factory to commence operations
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd’s (DLMI) RM540 million manufacturing facility in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, is located on a 13.2ha site in the Bandar Enstek halal hub and is set to commence full operations in July, 2024.
DLMI, which is the country’s leading dairy company, began operations in Malaysia in 1963 following the opening of its plant in Petaling Jaya, Selangor but the newly constructed DLMI@Enstek is three times bigger.
Currently, at DLMI@Enstek three lines are already operational at the new plant and the remaining ones will be commissioned next month and the Phase One construction has been completed while most of the employees have already been recruited.
Once everything is in smooth progress and stabilised, and all goes live in this Industry 4.0 integrated facility to meet Malaysian and regional demand, DLMI will decommission the Petaling Jaya facility in the third quarter of this year.
DLMI’s significant investment in Negeri Sembilan is its commitment towards building long term partnerships between the public and private sector to help improve Malaysia’s dairy sector, especially in raw milk production.
It is also important to note that DLMI is the largest purchaser of local fresh milk as it sources nearly 55 percent of its supply from local farmers which is the way the company contributes to improving the livelihood of cattle farmers.
