In a move welcomed by all Malaysians, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission Commissioner has given an assurance and an undertaking that no stone will be left unturned in investigations into acts of corruption by anyone.

This follows the discovery of Customs officials apprehended in a corruption racket running into billions of ringgit lost by the government in tax revenue and this discovery could possibly be the tip of an iceberg.

Investigations by MACC are ongoing and the commissioner warned that law enforcement agencies and institutions of government will not be spared from their dragnet and any act of bribery and corruption will be dealt with seriously.

The perception of corruption by authority figures in the country by Malaysians is very high and many people believe corruption commonly takes place and public officials have been helping themselves.

But the revenue lost is staggering and this is why the MACC commissioner assured that all monies lost to corruption will be recovered and find its way back into the Treasury to be used for the benefit of the people and country.

This assurance given by the commissioner goes to show that the unity government in Putrajaya has the political will and determination to weed out the corrupt and to take back what has basically been stolen from the rakyat.
