In a Facebook post, His Majesty the Yang Di Pertuan Agong has called for an immediate cessation to the Allah socks controversy and urged all Malaysians to let the authorities solve the matter amicably.

In calling for an end or closure on the issue, His Majesty reminded Malaysians of all walks of life to strive for unity and put the peace and stability of the nation as the foremost motive now in this country.

The King’s wise counsel should be heeded as by being factionalized and divided on the issue and to continue to bicker and backbite, it will get the country nowhere and threaten racial harmony among the people.

But this controversy should serve as an important lesson to all Malaysians in future not to overreact and go overboard in their behaviour but to follow the due process of the law and go through the proper channels.

Malaysia has the Rule of Law and this means that nobody should be above the law or take the law into their own hands but to let right of recourse to issues to be addressed by the relevant law enforcement agencies.

Once again, His Majesty the King’s counsel has been wise and it is important for all Malaysians who love this country of ours not to destroy the delicate balance of a multi racial and multi religious nation.
