Most of us have heard of the adage that ‘health is wealth’ and try to live life in such a way that our health is not compromised, jeopardized or endangered but instead well maintained and can keep us going until a ripe old age.
This is why health care professionals and physicians often counsel patients on adopting a healthy lifestyle by a regimen of medication, if any, exercise, and a balanced diet and to keep killer stress at bay.
While this is really the standard or general counsel medical professionals give to their patients, there is actually a whole lot more that can be done by each and everyone of us to live a happy, healthy life.
While genetics do play a part in longevity, it is possible for many people to live a healthy and long life and to also be productive and useful by adopting a healthy lifestyle behavior that will make life for us to be lived well.
Other than this, there is the option of going for health screening in order for us to detect issues that are manifesting or coming up and to be able to take precautionary measures as the saying goes, “prevention is better than cure.”
Avoid excessive vices such as chronic gambling, alcoholism, smoking, substance abuse and other forms of activity which might make us happy for a while but end up actually destroying us if there is no caution exercised.
