The Subang Airport Regeneration Plan (SARP) will be completed in phases by the year 2030 to create a new look and image for the airport but what is of greater welcome is that about 8,000 new jobs will be created.
KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd, the developer of SARP’s aviation business and aerospace segments, stated that these jobs will cover the full range or spectrum such as high end, mid and lower value positions.
KLIA Aeropolis explained that SARP actually had three segments of coverage, and they are the city airport, business aviation and the aerospace ecosystem and this is why it can create 8,000 jobs for Malaysians.
The city airport expansion has commenced through an interim plan and it will witness the passenger terminal double from 1.5 million passengers to 3 million passengers annually and will be completed by June this year.
Other phases, according to KLIA Aeropolis, would accommodate five million passengers, rising to eight million passengers by the end of the year 2030 as envisaged in their projected forecast and planning.
Plans are also afoot to develop at least eight hangar blocks within the next five years to ensure servicing for the aviation business and to make Subang Airport a premium city airport and aviation hub in the region.
