In line with the state government’s aim to make 2026 Visit Negeri Sembilan Year, plans are afoot to transform the seaside resort of Port Dickson into a premier tourist destination in the country that attracts hordes of visitors.

The proposals on the drawing board include building a smart port and a RM25 million floating mosque in town, as well as to create a duty free zone and a major theme park that caters to families and tourists.

Other proposals include a premium shopping outlet, a five or six star hotel and international food courts as all state agencies, departments and concessionaires are being urged to preserve and promote Port Dickson.

The state government believes Port Dickson has all the trappings to lure tourists, cruise operators and tour groups as the infrastructure as a seaside resort is already in place and the new proposals will only boost tourism.

Several events of international interest, including the Port Dickson Triathlon, Asia Powerboat International Championships, Auto Show Port Dickson are being organised for this year along with others.

Other events include the Trial Endurance Series, Explore Tourism PD and the Tunku Laxmana and Milo/NSC Open Regatta while the Aspirasi Malam Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Pesona PD, which are arts and culture series, will be held quarterly.
