Public delivery system must deliver
BY: AIN IBRAHIM
Give Malaysians not only what they need but also what they want and towards this end prime minister Anwar Ibrahim must ensure that the government and its public delivery system delivers to the satisfaction of all.
In the past, under successive regimes, the public delivery system failed to live up to expectations on many occasions and this is why now that a reformist government is in power the opportunity arises to transform the nation for good.
Although it might take time for the public delivery system to deliver there can be no more excuses offered other than to make sure that Malaysia’s delivery system becomes fully functional for all Malaysians to benefit.
In different expectations of the people, be it housing, healthcare, education, whatever the requirement is by the people there must be due diligence exercised and delivery of the outcome made to Malaysians.
For long many Malaysians have been bereft of enjoying the delivery system of the government as it was skewered to basically serve the corrupt and the elite in the country. Now all Malaysians must have access to an effective public delivery system.
Anwar Ibrahim must not procrastinate in his stance but make optimum use of his Madani concept to implement and revolutionise the public delivery system with immediate effect to counter its failures of the past.
