Artificial Intelligence or AI has taken the world by storm and is another breakthrough technology but there are questions and queries over the use of this technology and it is best that everyone proceed with cautious optimism.
While AI certainly does seem to make life easier for us, there are moral and ethical issues that need to be debated and a consensus has to be reached by all stakeholders over how it is to be used in Malaysia.
There is no need to ape western, advanced and developed countries over the use of AI, and it is suggested that Malaysians form their own views and opinions over the use of this revolutionary technology.
The pros and cons must be weighed, the advantages and disadvantages thoroughly and vigorously considered before deciding on its implementation on a wider scale as there can be no looking back.
The use of this technology has its merits and demerits and this is why there is a need to think futuristically if in the long run it actually brings benefits, gives a better meaning and purpose to our lives, or if it leads us down a wrong path.
The Malaysian government is very enthusiastic about implementing AI on a nationwide scale but before this is done there has to be laws, rules and regulations put in place to ensure there is no unethical use.
