In a show and display of children being of great value and importance, World’s Children Day was celebrated all over the world on November 20, 2023 and Malaysia was also a participant to the occasion with many events held at various venues.

The Malaysian government is on a drive and campaign to not only empower children but also women to create a better environment for these vulnerable and weak groups to be able to stand up for themselves.

It’s a challenging order, a tall order indeed for children and women to feel safe but while much progress has been achieved in gender equality and empowering women, children are still lagging in terms of being empowered.

This is why the government is beginning to formulate strategies and mechanisms on how to help and assist children to be protected and be able to grow up in a safe, conducive and happy environment.

Children should be guided and instructed while young so when the baton is passed to them by the passing away of the older generation they will have the knowledge, wisdom and ability to move the world forward.

Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders, and since nothing is forever, it is important for adults and seniors to instil and inculcate in the young the right principles, values, convictions and beliefs for a better world.
