Anwar should pay heed to criticism
BY: MIA NAWAWI
A growing number of independent political analysts concur that Malaysian prime minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, should learn to tolerate dissent and consider all kinds of feedback and criticism levelled at him.
These analysts believe this is the way forward for the government and not to show intolerance and crackdown and silence dissent as it would only serve to raise the ire and resentment of the rakyat in the country.
Instead they called upon and urged Anwar and his unity government to evaluate and consider seriously what Malaysians of all walks of life are saying and to use it to administer the nation through good governance.
While Anwar should only consider constructive criticism, Malaysians must play their part by sharing good thoughts, ideas and suggestions and offer solutions to problems and crises plaguing the country.
Malaysians must exercise maximum restraint by ensuring that they don’t blow their top or go overboard with their comments but learn to take the middle path and to temper their grievances with rightful caution.
While the prime minister and the government are not perfect, by offering constructive criticism perhaps the infantile steps can be taken to steer the nation in the direction of the people’s wishes and aspirations.
